Although a lot of our framing is more on the contemporary side of things along side of this we have always created beautiful , classic, frames.

And in the workshop this week we have a couple of perfect examples to show.

The trick to a good frame is that it should be in harmony with the artwork, not louder but enhancing only.

Looking at the antique golden textile we responded with a classic black hand finished profile with a brightly gilded fillet. The classic, black profile in contrast with the cream window mount gives a simple and calm surround to the opulant textile. The gilded fillet gives a nod to the golden textile which lets it literally shine out when hung  on the wall.

The landscape canvas has been framed with a hand finished wide profile in a neutral colour sensitive to the hues in the painting. This has been given punctuation with a black and gold inner profile giving the canvas a little kick.

There is such a huge variation when it comes to framing which is more likely to be realised when you come to a bespoke picture framer.
